All is going as planned. Both refinances have been competed and payed off. We now have no mortgage payment till February 1. That means we get to save this month's mortgage and pay off other bills. We did receive a check from escrow from over payment of fees. Not sure how that happened since there was nothing out of pocket for the loan. We have to wait 2 weeks to get the rest of the proceeds from the loan. So patience is in order.
We are so excited to full time. Browsing other people's full time blogs has been a great way to live vicariously through them. It always sounds so peaceful. http://www.wheelingit.us/ is one I like the best. Boondocking is what they like to do and it is very inspiring to see their journey.
We are still looking for interesting links and tips, so if you have been fulltiming drop us an email and follow us by email at the bottom of the page.
Our 8 year journey to fulltiming in our RV. Follow our progress as we get ready to leave it all behind.

431 weeks remaining....
Well, we were supposed to close escrow on the refinance on Tuesday, but I assume people were too excited for Christmas to finish up all the details. So we will close today (I hope). Since the fees were higher than I anticipated, we will have less money to pay off all the bills we wanted to. This really leaves only Caitlin's car to pay off. But since her car loan is at zero percent it's not that bad. It still leaves us with $2100 a month to pay off our last credit card and the new second mortgage. I say we are still on track.
I have already had to make the hard decisions to stick to the plan and not buy things that I shouldn't. Why is saving so hard! I am an over spender and need to keep that under control.
8 years seems like a long time now, but I know it will zoom past and we will be wondering how we will ever get it all done. I pulled out 2 tubs last week for Caitlin to go through but they are still sitting in the same spot. Well, no hurry now. PATIENCE!!!
One thing on my mind is: what will the world look like in 8 years? I hope better. What will the technology look like then? We already have LED in trailers, what's next?
We are also looking into getting property in Arizona and Montana. Kind of a summer/winter place to stay when we get a little older. Acreage is cheap in these 2 states. The plan would be to buy the property now just in case we need to settle down as we age. We can improve the property in the first few years and then when we need it, it will be there for us. I am trying to think all of contingencies.
Another thing I think about is how long 5th wheel trailers last. Will it last long enough? We will need to take very good care of it.

432 Weeks remaining...
The wife and I will be selling the house, packing up all we can take and selling the rest to get started on our dream life "Full Time RVing". We have an 8 year plan to achieve this goal. This blog will chronicle our life over the next 8 years while we prepare our lives and finances for this great adventure. I invite you to join us on this adventure by subscribing to this blog. The date is set: April 1, 2022
The genesis of our story must start with the one thing that will make it all possible: a refinance on our home. Doing this refi will enable us to pay off almost all our debt and allow us to save the money necessary to live a life style that is stress free and exciting. We will be debt free in 55 months from this January, leaving us 41 months to stash away all the money we can to realize our dream.
We have decided on the 5th wheel we want, a Montana 3850FL or the equivalent available trailer in the year 2021. Who knows what there will be in 7 years. An RV hovercraft?? I'm sure some pretty exciting features will be available by then. http://www.keystonerv.com/montana/ I'm sure this will be comfortable home.
We also have decided to make our maiden voyage a 3 month trip to Alaska starting off in Spokane, WA after a short visit to my wife's father. 30 days to get there, 30 days seeing all the sights we can and 30 days to get back to Spokane, WA. Expected departure date will be May 1, 2022, returning back to the Los Angeles area late Oct 2022.
